We proudly present the legendary Heptones! These Jamaicans were mostly active in the 60s and 70s. Their polyphonic harmonies and very relaxed sound helped them to transform rocksteady and ska into reggae, back in the day. Leroy Sibbles, Earl Morgan and Barry Llewellyn released 21 records in the course of the years, did collaborations with Jackie Mittoo, Lee Scratch Perry and The Abyssinians and toured with Toots and the Maytals. They gained fame with hits such as ‘I hold the handle’ and ‘Book of rules’. After Leroy Sibbles' solo adventure, a reunion in 1995 and Barry Llewellyn's death in 2011, The Heptones now consist of Earl Morgan, Robert Dacres and Carlton Scarlett. In this formation, they released the album 'Rebel Love' last year. These tireless gents live in our Skaville on Saturday!
